Google Is Shutting Down Websites Made With Business Profiles.

Google has announced that websites created through Google Business Profiles are getting the axe soon - the process has already begun, so let's talk about what will happen with your website, and what you can do.

Does this affect me?

Your Google Business Profile is safe, the only thing this affects is the website made with your Google Business Profile. As well as this, if you've made your website with any other tool, it'll be safe as well.

One catch may be if you're currently using a custom domain to redirect to your Google Business Profile website - in that case you'll still need to upgrade.

What happens to my website?

So here's the full quote from Google:

As of March 5, 2024, websites made with Google Business Profiles are no longer available and customers that visit your site will be redirected to your Business Profile instead...

Your customers will only be redirected to your Business Profile until June 10, 2024. After that, customers will get a “Page not found” error when they try to visit your website.

We're past the deadline now - as of March 5, 2024, websites made with Google Business Profiles are no longer available. Customers that visit your site will be redirected to your Business Profile instead.   

This only lasts until 10th of June 2024, after which your website won't be accessible and will display a "Page not found" error.
